I am about to attempt scrapbooking......does anyone have any good ideas about how to start? My pictures are piled up and messed up like crazy....my little boy likes to put them in his mouth too. I got all my stuff out today but it is still sitting on the dining room table because...sigh...it looks like toooo big of a job.
Jackson and I went shopping this afternoon and I decided to go in one of those little photo booths to take a mommy and son picture....I wish I could figure out how to put it on here. With each picture he got more and more scared and his eyes got bigger and bigger.
He is so dear.
good day

Good morning Tonya, I wish I could come over for the day and scrapbook with you! You just live a little to far away.
I love to scrapbook, and until I had my 2nd child I stayed pretty much caught up with my pictures. BUT now with 4 little ones I haven't even attempted to get it out. When I do try to get it out I have so many little hands helping me that I just stick it away again. One of these days I am going to get serious. I might set it up downstiars in hopes that the 2 oldest will play down there while the 2 youngest sleep so I can actually get something done. Anyway I don't have any brilliant ideas for you on how to start except to just dig in and get started....doesn't matter as much how you do it as that you are actually doing it! I hope you enjoy it.

Organizing your pictures is half the battle. Well... maybe not quite half, but close. I find that if I have my pictures sorted and organized I am way more motivated to actually put them on a scrapbook page. So.. go thru your pic's and decide which ones you want to actually put in an album. I bet only half of all the pic's we took of Erika are in an album. Then put them in chronological order, or whatever order you want them to be in an album. Now you are ready to start scrapbooking, and it goes pretty quickly. Remember the important thing in scrapbooking: getting it on the page and JOURNALING! Write down all the important info, the cute things Jackson does, all his "firsts", and as he begins to talk, the adorable things he says. The words and the pictures are important, not so much the embellishments, decorations and page layouts that make people go "WOW". I love scrapbooking because I can express my love for writing, show my creativity in my style, etc. Sometimes I feel the pressure to make the most outstanding page out there, you know I want it to be the BEST it can be, but then I remember that isn't what is important here. It's preserving these memories for my family. So my advise is: don't spend hours on a page trying to make it look just right. And as you experiment with scrapbooking you will develop your own style and taste and be able to complete a page more quickly with experience. Don't get discouraged if the first severla pages aren't you and you don't like them. I still end up with pages I absolutely do not like, but I generally let it go and don't sweat over it. Nobody else needs to know that you HATE the page. Erika and TJ LOVE to look at our photo albums, and they focus on the pictures, not all the other jazz on the page. And we talk about the memories, the good times, even the sad times. It's a accomplishment to get those pictures from shoe boxes to an album. It's very much worth the time you spend to do it too. Maybe this is more info then you wanted... but it's definitely a passion of mine! Enjoy yourself!! ~Kris
