  • All Moms.....Take Note

Last night we had our weekly cell group at church.  I did something very out of character for Tonya J. Good. (I think of myself as very detail oriented) I was so busy "thinking"..does Jill have enough formula to last at least 3 feedings (just in case we get stranded), did Jackie go potty, and on and on....that I had a I don't even know what to call it moment. Anyway, we got to church and were well into our meeting when a fellow mom said "I like your shoes Tonya" (she was kind of laughing too).  I looked down and said "Thanks, what's the joke?"  After hearing lots of laughter I took another look and to my surprise I had two different black shoes on!  After analyzing myself for awhile I have come to the conclusion I am going to have to pull myself together....oh, wait a minute I forgot I have two kids.  It was good to have a hearty laugh with our friends but the next time we do that I prefer not to be the object.  Yikes.... has anybody ever done things like this?  I will admit it was kind of humbling walking around with two different shoes on all night.  I vaguely remember thinking that something felt odd when I put my shoes on, and I kind of remember walking down our steps and feeling odd but I thought maybe I was a little dizzy. (The shoes were even two different heights)
Moral of the story....mmmmm....always try to put on matching shoes.  My husbands conclusion is that I have to many shoes....how can that be?

  • lol. It's good you can laugh at yourself. I've done a few weird ones too, but I don't think I've ever worn shoes from different pairs.

  • Too funny....but I sure very embarrassing at the time! At least Jack and Jill were well taken care of!

  • thats so funny-- and i`m sure pretty embarassing when you have to be stuck wearing them all night. but yeah, you`re a mom-- your def. allowed to be scattered. i noticed that my hair is a lot messier now that i have a kid. i guess i just have better things to think about...

oh, yes! im very into (so into) a cozy cabin weekend with good friends, lots of games, good and loud talks, kids and walks outside. bring it on. cindy asked me to and thanks for remindinh me-- i need to go reply now to her... we are pretty open in feb as far as i know.

  • Ton--is that what ya call a "junior moment",,we older ones have senior moments, that was pretty funny,if your anything like your mother, when she was still at home she had a shoe store under the bed!!!!!love ya--auntie Alm

  • Your definentley not the only Mom feeling scatter brained.  I only have a 9-month old and I feel like I'm not half as organized, like my head isn't sitting sqaure on my shoulders anymore.  I've done some pretty stupid-non thinking things.  But if its worth all the joy that this little blessings is...........its worth it!  Hope you have a good weekend!

  • histerical,  you must have to much going on.  that is so funny esp. if you are usually organized

  • chuckles. that was funny ton!

  • #1 - NEVER can a woman have to many shoes!!

That is hilarious!  It's incredibly hard to keep it all together! at least they were both black

  • Very funny story! I would have been embarrassed too, and I would also consider myself to be a pretty organized type. But I've pulled similar stuff...esp. since I am a Mom. It IS a good excuse, right?  Maybe your closet was dark.
